About — Humans & Robots

About H&R

Twenty years of marketing, social, and operations work — focused on local service businesses.

Humans & Robots is a practical consultancy for trades, contractors, and local service businesses. We help you get found, build community on social, follow up faster, and run cleaner. We use modern tools (yes, including AI) to do this work faster and more consistently — but the point is the result, not the tool.

The same problems, over and over.

We kept seeing the same things in great local service businesses: a Google profile that hadn't been touched in two years, social pages that used to be active but went quiet, missed calls that nobody followed up on, and a customer list living in three different places. None of these are exotic problems. All of them are fixable.

Humans & Robots exists to fix them. We bring in the playbook, do the work, report the numbers, and stay in it month over month. No long projects. No big strategy reveal. Just steady improvements you can feel.

Practical first. Modern tools second.

We start every engagement with the basics: how customers find you, what they see, how you respond, and how the office runs. We use modern tools — yes, including AI — to do that work faster and more consistently. But the priority order matters: business outcome first, then the simplest tool that gets us there.

Your voice stays with you. Your customer relationships stay with you. We just take the slow, repetitive, easy-to-forget parts off your plate so the things only you can do get the time they need.

Trades, service businesses, and mission-driven nonprofits.

Most of our work is with contractors, signage companies, installers, repair teams, and other local service businesses — including ones still running on filing cabinets, spreadsheets, and PDFs. We also work with mission-driven nonprofits on social, paid campaigns, and fundraising documents.

If your work is good and your systems are stuck in 2005, we'll help you modernize without breaking what already works.

Monthly. Tied to outcomes. No long contracts.

Engagements typically start around $3K/month and are scoped to specific outcomes — leads, reviews, pipeline, time saved. You can scale up, scale down, or end an engagement month to month.

We'd rather you stay because it's working than because you signed a 12-month paper.

Short list. We actually follow these.

  • Start with what's costing you money this week. Most owners already know where the leak is.
  • Report numbers every month. If it doesn't show up in leads, jobs, reviews, or hours saved, we don't claim it.
  • Keep your voice. Customer relationships and judgment stay with your team.
  • Be honest about fit. If we're not right for you, we'll say so and usually know who is.
  • You own the work. Every template, workflow, and account we touch belongs to you.

Case studies are the fastest way to tell whether we're the right call. Each one shows the problem the team brought us, what changed, and the outcome.
